Today’s biggest issue in many federations, and certainly with the growing number of inter-federation use cases, is attribute release (aka, the release of personal data from institutional repositories to web-based services via the internet). This session will present the status and plans of the growing eduGAIN inter-federation effort, present use cases in need of rich and accurate attribute bunches as well as interoperable policy frameworks and, in this light, discuss the federation operators’ role (typically the NREN).
