The last-mile of the end-to-end path is often
the most challenging, especially in remote or underdeveloped areas where
infrastructure is poor and return on investment can be low. As a
result, end-users and science instruments in remote areas suffer from
slower, less reliable connectivity or may lack access altogether. This
session will feature talks on how 5G, LEOSat, and LoraWAN are being
implemented to extend NREN services into remote regions, and on how the
NREN community is working together to address last-mile challenges.
